Core Fast energy

Go Fast has a new product, still under the radar for most of America. Core Fast is a great super powerful elixir, and even though the taste is not as great as it could be, an the packaging is enough to scare away all but the most avid energy drinkers, it is worth checking out if you are able to handle the caffeine.

Buzz/Nutrition:10
Like all of Go Fast’s drinks, this is also fueled by D-Ribose, a nutrient which is supposed to help fight off fatigue. It as the usual energy drink stuff, such as ginseng, taurine, amino acids and the overload of vitamin B complex. The thing that makes thins amusing is that the callout for the energy is not because of the caffeine, but by “The power an flavor of Acai!”, a small berry that while having some antioxidant properties, doesn’t do anything more for your energy than a bowl of blueberries.
The biggest thing about this one, of course, is the whopping 300mg of caffeine per can, not to mention the extra energy from the guarana and the green tea extracts. You will get lots of power in here, at least 4 solid strong non-jittery hours of energy. What this does not have is Yohimbine or any other added thermogenic stuff – so the caffeine will build you up and let you off without making you feel like you need to run RIGHT NOW. Up A WALL. I am going ot end up drinking this one a whole lot more.
Packaging:4
The packaging and all the warnings put this directly in the fire of Spike, the longtime leader in intense energy drinks. Spike used to have tons of warnings, but toned them down in the last re-design. Core fast put all those spike lost and tacked them on here. “Read entire can before drinking,” “Never Exceed One Can Per Day,” “Keep Out of the Reach of Children,” “Not for the Use by Those Under 18 Years of Age” and on and on. This impossible to read label is just full of grunge and impossible to read fonts and red on black and silver.
s for the mechanics, the lid is on exactly opposite than it should be. I do appreciate that they listed the caffeine count, especially since it is so high. They tried to double face this, but with all the warnings on the can, it just sorta run out of room.
While I like the idea, the can is overall way too hard to read – and way too messy in the process.

Taste:7
I don’t mean to compare (well, yes I do…) , but in my experience, you should not have to sacrifice great flavor to get a great buzz. Not that Core Fast is bad, by any means, but it is not so good either. The drink is pretty sour, having much more bite than other drinks with a high caffeine content (Cocaine, Redline an Spike Shooters). I can taste the honey used to sweeten things, and appreciate keeping the sucralose to a minimum using mannitol to help out the honey – but it needs something to mellow out the flavor profile a bit. While the original Go Fast might have had a delicious and very unique taste, this one is not going to win any awards.
