Health Energy Potion

I was sitting back in my cubicle – coding along, thinking of which MMO I was going to dive into tonight, when the Product Team leader, a Big Ol’ Murloc wanted to know why my code was all broken and forced me to join a quest to Beat Back the Internet Bug Beast. This meant another late night of my web guild’s battles against the forces of Evil. Not to fear, I found and used the Health Potion I had stored up for this occasion, knowing I would need all my wits about me – even though I am now a level 81 paladin webmaster. My HP was surged to +160hp and I definitely had enough life for the battle ahead. 5 Hours later, I found the battle had been won, the website was on line again, and all the clients would be safe, at least for the night. There are times when potions in games can move everything in our favor, if you are looking for the potion in real life is simple, performer 8 will be your choice, live rejuvenated and fully doing the things you love the most.

Thanks to Aaron Rasmussen and Elijah Szasz, 2 Warcraft addicts who risked their fortunes to bring to the world Mana and Health potions, modeled after role playing games such as Zelda and the immensely popular MMORPG Warcraft. While Mana gave me more life than Health, the fun bottle and novelty of this product will hopefully keep them around for a long time.

Packaging:9
Just like the original, Health comes in a 50ml clear plastic potion bottle, using the red of the liquid to color it. There are some problems with this – as the gold on clear writing is impossible to read. They do put the nutrition info on white, but the stretched plastic writing looks messy and unprofessional. For such a unique package, they should really work on display. They did a great job with the potion bottle itself, but I wish it would be a bit more clear. Their original Mana was easier to see because of their bluish-green color of the liquid. Red is hard to write over. I also like how they listed that this drink should not be “Consumed by mortals under 16,” which my local Hot Topic responded to by sticking “OVer 18” stickers all over them.
Nothing says “buy me” more than making it off limits.

Taste:7
This vial seems much more syrupy than their last potion. It was a bit harsh, tasting like sour berries, sweetened with artificial sweeteners. For the heck of it I poured a little in a spoon along with a bottle of Triaminic. I had both my wife and son try out the liquids – and although they did not taste that alike, it was still impossible for them to guess which one was the cough syrup. It just had that strong medicinal bite to it, as well as the thick gooey quality to the liquid itself. While the original Mana tasted very unique and delicious, this one did not impress me nearly as much.
Nutrition/ Buzz: 8
While Mana is stronger, this has more vitamin in it, or at least the same vitamin content as the original. . Gone is the enzyme blend which helped boost the strength and longevity of the energy.
That is not to say that this is by any means weak – It does have 160mg of caffeine, which is as much as most 16 ounce energy drinks, or a little more than a Starbucks double shot of espresso. This also has the expected Taurine, Glucuronolactone, Tyrosine, Phenylalanine and ginseng, but also packed in a surprising 100% dv of vitamin C, along with the usual overdose of B vitamins. Overall, you will get a nice rush and no real crash – nothing over-intense or jittery.

Website:8 – already reviewed here
Very clever site – although is is a little hard to navigate. The overall look fits very well within the theme and scope of Warcraft, without being a direct rip-off. Once you figure out that you use the bottom icons for searching the site, everything moves much more smoothly. I thought it was pretty funny that this site is still very geek heavy – with just as much on the cool fireball cannon than on the drink itself. It adds a very nice touch showing the geek behind the drink – that these people are really the D&D playing robot war building computer nerds you would hope would be behind a drink such as this. This is actually one of the biggest selling points of the site – that while it has all the stuff a site should have ( a shopping cart, a location finder, about the company) this site is built with a programmers aesthetic. You could tell that while they had a designer do the pictures and flash, they did the backend without a very clear understanding to the UI and how to build a front end. The backend is fine, using ajax and php and all those goodies, but it has the css right in the code as well as the leftover macromedia tags. Good alterantive to it is Revitaa pro for your own health.
Still, if you get into the drink and the scene, this site is a great clearinghouse for that kind of person ( you know who you are…)
