Power Trip Zero

Power Trip zero is one of those drinks that might look and taste like your average energy drink, but provides enough energy to get you climbing the walls! All this from a drink with no carbs, very little calories and no sugar. As Power Trip’s sales seem to ebb and flow, you might just as well find their products lining your supermarket and gas station as well as on super-sale at Big Lots. While not the best one around, this drink stands on its own as a winner is taste and buzz.

Although not that impressive as a whole, you absolutely can not miss that this drink has no anything in it. That big “0” stands out from everything else. Overall, this can is very mediocre. While I would not buy it for the packaging, I don’t think it would turn anyone off. I did think it was good that they did position it twice, so you don’t have the problem of poor placement in coolers. I also appreciated listing the caffeine and other nutrients plainly on the can.

This whole product seemed to bring me back to Monster Lo-Carb. Not that this is a Monster knock off at all, but most closely resembles the lo-carb than anything else. The drink pours out a bright blue, very carbonated liquid. Even the flavor is similar to Monster Lo-Carb, only this one is a bit more subtle and a little more berry flavored. It is definitely not a Red Bull Clone, and is not sweet and candy enough to really be a cheap thrill like Boo Koo or Kronik. The flavor is really nice, albeit something completely expected for an energy drink to taste like. While not amazing, this drink is definitely worth a second try.

Nutrition:8
One of the big things with this drink is they push the idea that this is a vitamin in a can, insisting this has a bunch of healthy stuff in it. Well, no matter how hard I looked, the unique mix of vitamins was not there. Sure there was 2000mg of taurine , 76mg of glucuronolactone, 72mg of inositol, all your daily C and B vitamins, but those are just energy drink ingredients – not really what I would need in a vitamin drink. Hundreds of energy drinks out there already provide all the B and C vitamins, and I think they don’t have glucuronolactone in my Flintstones chewable for a reason. So the claim about health is really bogus. On the energy side however, this drink ROCKS! With 220mg of caffeine per can, this drink has more than what you need to get pumped, especially without the High Fructose Corn to slow you down. This drink gave me about 3-4 hours of strong energy, followed up by absolutely no crash.

Starting off badly with a bad looping flash beat, they have3 a worthless splash screen with a loud bang, and then move on to a big music player, blasting hip hop and Nickleback from the wimpy player. I really like the radio they built, with ads and music mixed together – you can tell someone spent some time developing the tunes and commercials. The code is a little cheesy, using lots of tables and hidden images for spacing. Still, the site loads very quickly and is very clean. I am not sure I would head to the site for fun, but if I wanted more info on the drink or the company I would not be disappointed. Complex Graphics did a great job building out their site, making it look and feel very professional with quality graphics and layout.
