Who’s your daddy sport energy shot

Everyone is getting into shots today. After all, what is the point of having a successful energy drink if you can’t find some way to cash in on this growing segment. It’s like the classic Smith and Jones cliche’s, and if one company comes out with one energy shot, all of them do. Red Bull has theirs, and so do Full Throttle, Nos, Rockstar, Monster and AMP. I don’t think it would be in any way out of line to see Crunk!!!, Steaz, and Bawls as shots any day now.

Who’s Your Daddy is another one of those that it was just a matter of time. What does this have to do with the flavors of any of the WYD line? Not Much. How about the old Who’s Your Daddy in your face look and feel? not really that either. This is a pomegranate shot with some decent ingredients and some decent flavor. The biggest reason this shot is a disappointment is because it is just another me-too in a world of sour caffeinated shots cluttering the gas stations across the country.

Taste:4
Pomegranate – very tart shot – not terribly easy to drink. If this were any bigger, I might have not have got it all down. The Sucralose/ Ace-K blend was barely there – leaving a sourness in your mouth long after you get it down. This is no worse than choking down a NOS shot or a dozen out there – it’s pretty easy to have this shot just enter the annals of others out there -nothing to really separate this from the pack. I just wish this tasted and worked like their Green Tea or even their plain old energy dring. Calling it “sport” and making it so radically different than what they are about is the wrong direction for a company that usually gets things right.

Packaging:5
At least fits within the rest of the “who’s your Daddy” line, using their colors, fonts and moniker, although it seems like it has less bravado and in-your-face-ness than their energy drink line does. The overall look is very busy – lots of different typefaces and designs on here. Overall I like the design over probably 50 percent of the shots you find littered in cashiers stations, but they use the same shot package as so many other shots – with the label printed around the standard plastic bottle, so it is the same thing as the 5 hour energies. Or 6 hour powers, or On Go. or Amp. etc…

Nutrition/Buzz:7
The buzz from this shot is exactly as expected. You get about 2-3 hours of pep from the bottle – not crazy but not amazingly powerful either. The Sport portion of the shot comes from L-Arginine. Arginine is known to facilitate the release of human growth hormone which may offer benefits in the treatment of injuries, strengthening the immune system, building lean muscle and burning fat. It also has some antioxidant properties from the pomegranate extract. Of course to really get the properties of both the Arginine and pomegranate you would need to consume a whole lot of shots – more than just one or 2 a day. The amino acid combo that you would find in most energy shots is in here too, giving you the nice lift that you would expect from most decent energ shots.
This is by no means a bad mix – it is all in all pretty nice – but I was just expecting more from a company that usually chooses to innovate, not imitate.

This is more of what I expected from this great company! Beautiful women holding their shot close to their chest a very silly and sexy video – and a VERY polished look and feel. For being a WordPress site that makes this even more impressive. They have managed to make almost everything about their site, from their extensive gallery to RSS feeds and WYD news through the wordpress theme – which is a fantastic idea – if you are smart and talented enough to pull it off. It looks like the folks are Revolutiontwo were behind this beautiful and functional site, although kudos also goes to the folks at Who’s Your Daddy for updating and maintaining it all as well.
