Go Fast GFTea

Go Fast has always mode some very unique products. Even their flagship energy drink is one of those products that you either think is superlative or like cat’s pee (I always fall into the delicious category). Their attention to high quality ingredients and their use of sweeteners have always been interesting enough for me to keep buying. That was one of the biggest reasons why I was excited to try Go Fast’s new line of teas – because I knew no matter what, this drink would be quite unusual.
Go Fast does not disappoint, creating an energy drink unlike any others. Whether you find the taste one you can fall in love with is a different story. While I have had MANY tea based energy drinks in the past, this is the first to use a mixture of green, black, and white tea, rather than just using one variety. There is also a light carbonation in the drink – unlike most other tea based drinks. This tastes nothing like the original Go Fast flavor – but with the same sweetness and great energy as the original drinks. So if you are a fan of Troy Widgery and company, chances are you will love it. However, if you like your energy drinks on the soda side ( you know the drinks – loaded with high fructose corn syrup and anhydrous caffeine, like Monster, Rockstar and Full Throttle) then this will probably taste like a sour mess.
That’s OK – means there will be more for the rest of us.

Much of what they have in here is the same stuff you would find in most other energy drinks, from B vitamins and ginseng to taurine, ginkgo, and inositol. The cool thing is the addition of Ribose, and the attention to the ingredients they use. The drink is preservative free, and uses Honey and sugar instead of HFCS, Aspartame or even the sucralose/Ace K blend that almost every other energy drink on the planet has. In terms of just Caffeine, there is 160 mg in here, but there is about 3-4 solid hours of energy in this one too.
Another cool thing they added in here, as well as most of their other drinks is Ribose, which helps people with chronic fatigue syndrome. It is supposed to help improve energy, sleep, mental clarity, pain intensity and well-being.

This is definitely one of the more interesting drinks I have had in a long time. I have had blended coffee before, but never a blend of such tea. The extracts of all the teas in here are very strong, so the drink is pretty sour – like if you dumped a teabag of green, a teabag of black, and another of white tea in a small cup and let it steep for 10 minutes. The sourness is then lifted with a little sweetness, where you can really taste the sugar and honey. Like their original blend, this is not for everyone. I found it to taste absolutely amazing, very strong and floral, giving quite a kick in the taste buds before giving a kick in your nervous system.

Unlike a great portion of energy drinks, this one stands out with a very bold white, black and red color scheme. The entire can looks very hip and very very clean, and triple faced, so the poor C store workers and distributors don’t have to worry about facing the can. I really don’t like how they hide the caffeine on the label – different than the original can where they display it proudly. This is still quite a pretty can, where you could tell they spent time and energy working out the design. They also The entire cans stands out well in the cooler – very distinctive color and font choices.
