I think I can sum up my feelings of GURU Juicy Superfruit this way. I have lots of samples sent to me – enough that I have to have a special box and system so I don’t forget anyone. I have enough energy stuff to last at least a month. A few days after sampling GURU juicy superfruit, I found myself driving to Whole Foods because I HAD to have more. The flavor, the cool can, the great buzz – this guru has me hooked. If you are an addict, like me, who loves the buzz but tries to live on the healthy side, just go out and buy this. I would be very surprised if this did not make a top 10 list for 2009.

OK – don
t need to bore you with all the health of Guru’s drinks, as I have raved about their all natural organic top-of-the-line ingredients before. I am constantly impressed with their attention to detail. Of course, the all natural ingredients means that they use organic real sugar – so it is pretty high in calories (180 calories per 12oz can) it also gives it a high carb count and lots of sugars, but then again, so is any natural juice you can find.
In terms of health ingredients, this is LOADED. Antioxidants, acai berries, echinacea, pomegranates, yumberries, and ginko biloba means you are doing your body real good. Heck – they even use fruit and veggy juice to get their drink colored right.
Buzz-wise, this juice is no slacker either. a little less than 150mg of caffeine ( from guarana, of course) is packed in here, along with ginseng for an added rush. I love it that they did not feel any need to taurine and B vitamin this juice up – as there is more than enough power in here to keep you bouncing, tingly and alert for hours.

What made this drink real different is the simplicity and unmuddled flavors that came right out – blending into one fantastic concoction. This tasted like lemonade/grape juice, with delicious and rich berry undertones. If you walked into Whole Foods and tried to create the best citrus/berry juice you could blend up, it would still be hard to get better than this one. If you are looking around for a healthy pick me up – do not hesitate- this one is a real winner.

While it is technically OK, I am still not a fan over a salmon colored energy drink, even if it tastes nothing like energy drinks. OK – small personal issue. The rest of the can is perfect. Seriously perfect. The logo is front and center for all your friends to gaze at while you drink. The lid is placed the right way on the can. They double face it so it is easier for distributors to shelve.
This is a huge advantage over both their 8 oz tiny drinks that makes you crave more, and the 16oz which were too much drink with too little energy. Putting everything into these well designed 12 oz cans is a fantastic idea.

Well, much tweaked since I have been here last. While I think it is still a tad overdone, I also think it is a really interesting place to kill some time, get real product information or know anything at all about the company. It is an interesting mix of great color and design with an over the top video and hip urban feel that makes me feel like I have just stepped into a very ubercool urban outfitters. Gone were the cute 20ish kids talking about how much they love GURU – and in it’s place are much better videos advertising the product. The blog tool is very full and nice – and you can tell they put time and energy maintaining its look and feel. Now the drinks are what is most important, not the cool kids seen drinking it. Everything else about this is SUPER high quality and very very pro. Even the backend code is top notch – something you find in short supply with energy drink companies.
