OK – I must start off this review by first laying to rest your first notion that there are pomegranates in here. as their website states, “Our coffee tastes absolutely positively nothing like Pomegranates. That would just be wierd.” There is a patent pending antioxidant extract from pomegranates, but you can’t taste that in here at all. Instead you can taste strong chocolate, thick and smooth coffee, with a mild bitter aftertaste.

For a coffee drink, this one has just about all of what you need to get moving in the morning, or anytime you feel that slump coming on. There are a ton of good things going on with this drink from the powerful antioxidants to using erythritol rather than HFCS to sweeten things up. I also found 10 grams of protein in here too, so there is more than enough real food in here to justify the 190 calories. This is not just empty calories, but something real and nutritious you could put into yourself. The coffee is also very good, being rainforest alliance certified as well.
In terms of energy, only Shock Coffee seems to compete for sheer waking power. This drink blows the starbucks cans away ounce for ounce. There are 175mg of caffeine in this small 10.5oz bottle, as much as 2.5 shots of espresso. Think of this as a Shot in the Dark ( coffee with a couple shots of espresso in it) , only chocolatey and full of nutrients and protein.

One of the coolest things about Pom is their lovely glass containers, which double as great drinking glasses. Like those Welches jelly jars for kids, if you don’t watch out you end up with a cabinet full of small-hearted glasses. Not the case with Pomx Iced Coffee though – which is a real shame. Not that I waned the coffee in a glass necessarily, but I hoped they would continue the innovation with some kind of collectible container.
Overall, the design works well, and is easy to read and gather information while still looking very pretty. The badges they put on here ( fair trade stamp and a fat free stamp) are smaller and nicely placed out of the way on the back.
One of the biggest kudos I can give them is that they print how much caffeine is in here, even though it is a coffee drink. No other coffee drink has done this yet – and it is VERY very welcome. I LOVE knowing the strength of this little drink is so powerful.

Great flavor up front, very strong and full of thick smooth flavor. Aftertaste is medicinal and bitter, which is a real shame. Even the smell of the drink comes across as a little sour. The flavor is not of a Mocha but a caffeinated chocolate milk, using carageenan to make this as thick as those old chocolate milks you used to get in your elementary school cafeteria.
As for overall texture, the thickness comes across very smooth and silky, rather than syrupy. The overall feeling I got from this was that this could easily become an everyday sort of drink if you can handle the bitter aftertaste.

Very silly, and chock full of information. There is your guide, a silly wired bug-eyed sheep who can guide you through. The flash is handled well and judiciously, only having 4 categories for the information. You can easily get what you need and skip the silliness too. Not to mention, this is one fo the only flash splash screens I really enjoyed watching.
Behind the scenes the code is written well, keeping things nice and simple and the loading is fast enough. If you like their commercials, you would get a kick from visiting their site. Only thing I would add is a place to buy these while they are working on a national rollout. I would definitely order some of these coffee grenades while waiting for them to come to my supermarket. They are planning on taking this nationwide, so if they are not in your area yet, be patient – wired things are coming…
