Today’s Trial – Redjak pop. Sorry – it is a soda. Maybe the non- carb version will be a little less like apple pop – but this was heavy and very sugary. From looking at other reviews of this product, the taste seems to have been improved over a previous version – but I still find this to be a filling meal of a drink – with 240 calories in the can. Ill try as soon as Cadbury schwepps (the distributor) finds its was into stores anywhere in my area.
Why so sugary? Well it seems they dumped the high fructose corn syrup in favor of plain ol’ sugar! Does that make it tastier and healthier, actually, yeah. no hfcs means quicker processing of the sugars and less preservativeness. The can lets you know that over 70 years of experience make up this recipe. really? it took 70 years to figure out how to make this?? I would have expected a little more if I spent 70 years on 1 energy drink – gold embossed drinkable rocket fuel filled with nothing but nutrients and GNC pumped vitamins. Oh well. There some positives though.
TASTE: 7-
apples – and lots of it. not a ton of taurine, but enough to make it taste of granny apples as opposed to red delicious.
buzz / health 5:
weak! listed on the can, but only 164 mg in the whole can? I can get more than that from downing a double cappuccino. The caff could be felt immediately though – so it was a small but fast acting buzz – thanks to the sugar. the secret ingredient to this one is lots of Niacin(vitamin b3). sure it has the regular b vitamins, taurine and ginseng mix you would expect.

ok – I have seen the previous designs with the Budweiser looking logo on it – and this is a vast improvement. Does not mean that it is a stunning can though. They wet for a modern take on an “Old Fashioned” design. Lots of filigrees on it, and a big “made in 1937: stamp on it. The verbiage on the can made me feel like something a lot more special was going got happen on the can first popping – like I would have the smell of cigars or Victorian furniture wafting out. Alas – this was not really the case.
Overall, a weak drink for such an expensive caloric content.
boring website – does not have any info, but full of unexciting flashiness
energy drink ratings gave it a lousy review the first time out – and although I understood it got better, still not as good as what could have been
