Nature’s Oasis is in the business of manufacturing of liquid vitamins, but like many pharmaceutical companies, they just can not stay away from the lure of huge profits. company has been around 13 years. Tropical oasis has been around for a long time. After came out with “liquid solutions” it seem s appetite control – fruits and veggies, hangover cure,Profits aside, they really should have worked a few more months of flavor and hired someone – anyone else do do the packaging. They have made an barely stomach-able mess of an energy shot, working amazingly but tasting like medical grade Nyquil. An 8oz non-carbonated Stay Alert Energy drink has been on the market for about two years, sold nationwide, but more easily found in Texas Wal-Mart stores. Now, the little shot seems to be everywhere – unleashed to convenience stores around America in deadly 2 oz bottles.
My good thanks to Drake at beverageboutique.com who was able to track this little potent wonder down.

I do not give out 10s very easily for energy shots. For a 10, you need to be not only energizing, but unique and compelling enough to scour stores for. If you can get it down, this little shot is better for you than all the rest. This is on top of the VERY nice boost it gives you – nothing crazy, but light years better than what you can find in any of the top 5 selling energy shots. This is because of the yerba mate, green tea extract and guarana on top of the caffeine to boost you way past normal energy levels. This is some serious energy not to be knocked down like a 6 pack of 5 hour energies.According to Natures Oasis this shot has about as much caffeine as 2 cups of coffee, or around 150 – 200mg of caffeine, which is potent enough by itself to get you bouncing off walls. It also has the usual energy supplement characters in here, from taurine to a HUGE dose of vitamin B complex. Like other shots, this also has D-Ribose and other aminos to speed up your metabolism.
Now this is where it gets exciting. Adding to this powerful dose of energy is 72 trace minerals, Vitamin H, Vitamin D, Vitamin E and Vitamin A and vitamin C. This drink truly is a energy fueled multivitamin. They then added 6 herbal nutrients just in case you are also one of those who shop in Whole foods for your daily multivitamins. So this really is a vitamin energy shot – a great way to get your daily dose and be healthy about it too!

For a product that tastes so good, why does it have to look so bad! Even for a shot this looks bad! While some energy shots are clever or unique, this one is just plain gross. Bad printing of an eye with rays coming out – serif text – and a design that would shame even the least discerning energy shot drinkers. Maybe the badness is what is appealing – that surely a drink that looks this poor must be really good. And not only is not the design worth crying about, the information and text on here is just as bad. In 2 separate places they advise that you had better not exceed suggested use ( 1 ounce of the 2 ounce bottle) and do not take after 4:00 pm ( or else you will turn into a bad gremlin or wolf out?). I’m sorry – but of all the dumb things to print – ” do not drink after 4:00pm?? That does not even make sense… You also get a listing of all the vitamins and doses – but no listing of caffeine, yerba mate, or ANY of the energy ingredient.
That makes just a little less sense than the warning that individuals sensitive to caffeine should not take drink this caffeinated energy shot.

My wife liked that this tasted strongly of Nyquil – thinking that for something this powerful, tasting like nasty medicine added to the overall shot- so you could not confuse this with something non-medicinal. I disagree, as I have drank many many shots and have had some that were downright delectable. This evil stew of herbs and vitamins tasted much like they did not bother with concealing the bitter, sour flavors of their ingredients, and just domped some sweetener in here to get it past your throat.
This is truly the worst energy shot I have ever had the misfortune of tasting – worse than NOS and all those Asian energy shots. For this great buzz, it is worth it though – so just hold your nose and force it down past your tongue like a shot of bad medicine. Maybe this is the best that one can do with such an impressive ingredient list. Maybe they don’t have a reliable food scientist. Either way – be prepared to force this down your gullet like a shot of 2 dollar tequila.
