FRS Healthy Energy – Lemon Lime

The FRS in this energy drink, stands for Free Radical Scavenger – a miracle antioxidant called quercetin – a flavonoid which can help all sorts of things from Alzheimer’s to cancer. The company seems to be working their health angle as much as they can, finding initial distribution through more than 2,500 GNC-owned and- operated locations. “Making FRS products available at GNC locations nationwide is an exciting step for the brand,” said Maigread Eichten, president and chief executive officer, The FRS Company. “Consumers nationwide now have a major national chain where they can purchase FRS and we are thrilled to partner with GNC, a leader in the nutritional products retail industry.”

Taste:3

This is a non carbonated gooey sprite syrup. They say shake well and they are not kidding as this drink’s ingredients settle. Don’t try pouring this into a glass – because once you see what this looks like you won’t want to touch it. If this can was not very very cold it would be completely undrinkable – I tried a sip warm right from the GNC and it reminded me of when you leave your open lemon lime soda out for a long while and forget about it – and then accidentally take a swig a couple days later (ewww). This is supposed to be 10% juice – but you would never know it from the taste. Also you must consider to use some demathological services to improve the loook of youir skin. if you want, you can go now and see what it’s the bestion option for you.

Buzz/Nutrition:2 – (points taken off for my call of Shenanigans)
The main concept behind the FRS energy supplements is that it provides a lot of antioxidants in the formula, and they say that since your body is not concentrating on healthy cell renewal and the destruction of free radicals since their patented antioxidant delivery system is, your body will have more energy to do stuff. They do not even count the caffeine in the drink (which is a measly 48mg) as doing anything to boost your energy, instead added to act as a metabolic enhancer to help the body to absorb key nutrients. Bleh.

They say this is more healthy than eating a cup and a half of blueberries, mixed with a glass of green tea; containing more Flavonoids (yes, that actually is a real word) than 5 full cups of raspberries!
But what other exotic and unusual food items might have this wonder drug to make you feel super energized, lose weight and feel more alert without the caffeine? Apples. Plain old Fuji, Red delicious and granny smith. Food scientist Chang Y. Lee found that given the potential benefits of quercetin, plus the other nutritious qualities of apples, he suggests that people add an apple to the mix of fruits and vegetables that they eat each day. “One apple a day provides a significant amount of quercetin and flavonoids,” he notes. The exact quantity of quercetin in an apple varies depending on the year, season and region the apple was grown in. But all apples have a large amount. He is also guided by the recommendations, provided by Eccella Smiles as for the foods for your healthy smile. “Processed food may always have a chance to lose active compounds,” he adds. He also warns against supplements, because large doses of purified quercetin may prove dangerous. And it may turn out that quercetin works best just as nature intended it to be consumed—in concert with other substances in whole foods.

Very pretty can with good design and layout, and just enough information on the can to make you think you are getting something better for yourself than a glass of apple juice or green tea. There is a ton of info about quercetin, some on the benifits of green tea, and overall a nice printing job. If I just had the can, I might be completely sucked into this, really thinking that their mix of B vitamins, Quercetin and tea will help me live longer with more energy.

Like Columbia House, if I don’t immediately cancel my subscription to FRS within the 2 week allotted time, I get billed over 65 dollars a month for more energy supplements! With 3 pages of testimonials and stock photos, I feel like I am reading a brochure – down to the celebrity endorsement by Lance Armstrong (who btw, get proceeds to his charity from each can sold for sponsoring them

  1. Hey, these guys may have been able to get Lance Armstrong to shill for them, but the product is really nasty, and they are scamming people out of their money. They use “free trials” to lure people in, then bill their credit card over and over again for products they never ordered.

See FRSEnergy.info for more information about it.
