Hydrive E energy drink

Ever feel like a Gatorade but need the caffeine too? This could easily take the place of all those bottles of Powerade you have lying around the house. Hydrive E is basically a sports nutrition drink with a nice healthy dose of caffeine. From what others I had tasting too, we all came to the consensus that this is a fantastic workout drink too. The guys that run this business know what they are doing. The CEO of Snapple Beverages and the President of A&W Brands and the CEO of Yoo-hoo/Orangina are the ones behind the Hydrive brand.

It has all the stuff for post workout in it, potassium, low sugar, etc. to help give you that energy back after a hard workout or dance session. After taking my son to a mosh pit for the first time, I spent much of the evening deflecting blows and the big dudes from trampling my 9 year old. After a couple hours being abused by dudes in ska outfits this drink REALLY hit the spot. Not to mention, it makes for a great hangover remedy – certainly better than drowning your head in coffee.

I found it amusing that rather than dealing with extreme sports sponsorship, these guys took an interesting route sponsoring the speed dating site Cupid.com/PreDating to do an integrated partnership that includes sampling at speed dating events, advertising and sponsorship.

Like most Ades, this one works best after doing some sort of activity, or it just tastes like slightly sour Kool-aide. After a workout, it truly is fantastic. If you don’t like the taste of most Ades, stay far away from this flavor. like most sports drinks, it is the kind of thing you either find delicious or the nastiest stuff on the planet.

Not an amazing job, but OK. The packaging in a plastic bottle as opposed to metal was a good one, and the design is nothing special, but not that bad either. Problems are the lack of caffeine and other supplements in the list, although they certainly do not hide it on their website.

There are 145 milligrams caffeine and 30 calories in the bottle, less than what you would find in a Gatorate. They also put in here the usual EDM, full of B vitamins and taurine. Big difference between this one and many other energy drinks is the addition of electrolytes and amino acids.

pretty basic, but chock full of information; from their press release to a FAQ for those of you who don’t know about caffeine and hangovers. I do like their store locator, Unfortunately, there is not a place near me at all that has one. I guess this one was a treat for me when visiting DC only. Another cool thing about the site is the ability to get free samples from the site too, Well, almost free – you just need to pay for shipping (around 6 bucks for postage and handling). Still, for 2 bucks a bottle it is worth a try.
