On Go Lemon Lime

On go energy shots have been one of my most anticipated shots in my collection to try. The berry blast is one of the best energy sots ever made, and the orange was decent as well. I really looked forward to trying this one out knowing the bar for this company was so high. This bright green citrus is better than 90 percent of the shots out there, although not the best of the On Go line.
Taste:9
While leagues above 5 hour energy and dozens of others, I still found some issues from this shot. While being sweet and lemony, the creamy smooth of the berry comes across more like lemon syrup in this profile. Don’t get me wrong – this still tastes quite excellent. If the only flavor of On Go on the shelves is this, it is still tastier than anything else on the counter. however, it is still a step down from the perfection of their berry shot.

Nutrition/Buzz:8
While the buzz from this was noticeable, this is not the thing to help you with an all-nighter or early morning party. The rush is pretty quick, coming on strong and lasting around 3 hours – depending on tolerance, of course. They also add some interesting ingredients in here, including enzymes and potasiium, to help hydration. Although the caffeine in here is not overly strong (Around 80mg), there are enough other energy boosting properties in here to keep you going for a while.

Packaging:8
No surprises, the package was ripped off from the 5 hour energy package design, much like 90 % of the energy shot market is. I was a little disappointed that for something this delicious they did not step out into something more attractive and eye catching, but understood that they are trying to compete by imitating their closest competitor.
As for their label, it looks very nice and professional, but still refuses to list the caffeine amount. On Go takes their time to come up with a very pleasing color palette and overall layout. I just hope that it stands out from the market enough to catch hold – as the design is one that easily blends in to the other shots taking up register counter space.
