24:7 Coffee+Energy Caffe latte

Do people actually buy this crap? There are loads of these all over, but I am still finding a hard time believing anyone would really choose this over the dozen tastier, more buzzworthy canned coffee choices.
I know – that is not the nicest thing to start off a review with, but seriously. Anyone familiar with any energy drinks by prilabs (Re5, Encore, 24:7 brand energy drinks) know they are in for a lackluster flavor, kick and overall boring time. 24:7 drinks can mainly be found in Walgreens, although I hear they are negotiating a deal to infest Walmart with their own brand of poorly supported, poorly designed no-kick cans. This is a truly worthless drink that should be put out of its mercy by the general public. How does this even make it into stores?? With great coffee drinks and smaller great labels looking for shelf space, it is a real shame this product ever made it out to the masses.

Nutrition/Buzz:
First the bad news – this thing is just bad for you. There is 2000 calories, 10 grams of fat, 42 grams of sugar hiding in this can. 24:7 coffee + energy does not even have real coffee in it! a closer look at the ingredients reveal that it has a coffee extract. Well, that explains why it tastes like it does. In terms of extra nutrients, this has a little B vitamins, but really this is empty coffee flavored canned milk.
Then more bad news – it gives you about as much energy as a glass of Coffee Mate Creamer. On first pass, it looks like things might be ok, with an energy blend of maltodextrin, taurine, ginseng, l-caritine, guarana, dextrose, and glucuronolactone. This is, of course listed with caffeine and taurine, although I had to read the label 3 or 4 times to be sure I was not misreading. This lists a whopping 10mg caffeine! That’s right, you can find more caffeine in a candy bar than this. No Rush – just a fatty waste of time.

Taste:4
Taste is not too bad, as long as you dont really want to drink coffee. This is a coffee flavored milk drink, only without a,l the benefits of actually drinking real milk. It left a small sour aftertaste in my mouth, but that was barely noticeable 5 minutes after. Still, I expected this to taste like coffee, not artificially flavored extra sweet coffee. While not bad, I would not EVER buy this on taste – or anything else for that matter.

Packaging:
No logo – wierd printing job -no slogans. They do get some points for putting the caffeine in the ingredients list ( although in their case I would have hidden it out of shame). They did manage to plaster their logo all over on the can – and the layout works – although it is very retro and cheesy ( not in the good John Waters kind of way). The printing job is pretty sub par though – as though they could not afford the good printing jobs.
