Blutonium

Sometimes, when you have a good idea, getting out to the public first is a good thing. In the world of energy drinks and shots, innovation is the thing that gets you out of the small time distributors and into the hands of consumers. Other times, you just need to be better than the competition. Red Bull was by no means the first energy drink, but by fantastic marketing and distribution and marketing they were able to spread their product throughout America.

Blutonium is a new shot with a unique design and a great flavor – regardless if there is already another better distributed blue test tube product on the market. This big energy shot is another one that comes in a unbreakable plastic test tube, much like Hardcore energy. The difference is that their product is far better than hardcore, and has the opportunity to storm the market if the marketing and distribution is right. This tasty blue flavored energy shot is a little wonder, tasting incredible and provides more than enough energy to get you through even the most heinous work cycles. In their case, it does not matter who was in the market first, but who can claim that shelf space better – and I hope Blutonium gets their chance.

Right now, you can only find this at Quick Trips, Mobil on the Run and other stores in Illinois and select states in the Midwest. Folsom Distributing – the purveyors of Mr. Pure and Fitz’s Root Beer are the inventors, and are trying to get this out to everyone in the US as fast as they can. You can find it online at http://www.figureyou.com/blutonium.html, but chances are that most of the US is not going to see this one around very soon – and that is a real shame. Jim Folsom has one heck of a great product – and it should be much much bigger. But without some big exposure or advertising dollars it might prove to be a hard sell.

Surprisingly, the cool vacuum tube shaped package is not the best thing about this. While it is certainly original and unique, the flavor and power of this drink goes way past the novelty of the design. The drink is just flavored blue, as to the bright blue color if the liquid. While my first sample was a dark greenish color ( thanks to Drake at www.beverageboutique.com for turning me onto this product), the newer ones I got from Folsom distribution were all a very vibrant rich blue. The flavor was also pretty amazing, tasting more like a nice easy to drink Kool Aid than the sour and strong flavor of so many energy shots.

cool blue test tube that actually look like a test tube! if it were a bit longer – it would also look like a dildo – but it was small and squat enough to remind you more of old electronics than anything dirty.
The tube as some definite advantages and disadvantages. The design is very new and totally unique – with a great color and cool name. The problem is the writing on it is put on by a big sealed wrap – making all the fonts hard to read and quite stretched. The design make this nearly impossible to break and spill, but it also succumbs to having their logo ribbed right off in the ripping open of the seal. The design is great, but the printing job leaves something to be desired.

In terms of pure energy, this drink is one one to be taken lightly. This little powerhouse will definitely keep you pumped for hours. While this drink might not be the most powerful out there, you can feel this drink working on you. This stuff kicks 5 hour energy’s arse. My quad-shot swilling friend took one of these on a lazy day and spend hours bouncing around the room. He reported getting a better caffeine buzz from this than on any of the other things I have shard with him. The surprising thing is that this only has around 100mg of caffeine in here. The drink really gets powerful from enough Amylase, Cellulase, Lactase, Lipase, Protease, D-Glucuronolactone and L-Phenylalanine to really get me jittery and bouncing off the walls.Feel like you are going to need a pick up? drop one of these things in your pocket and you wont get any yawns for a real long time!

Man – these people need to hire a web designer. This thing looks like it was slapped together in half a day by whoever knew the most photoshop in the office. There is about half a page of information here – a little on the product, a little on the company and a contact email. Where is the cool? where is the shopping cart? finding this drink even online has proven to be a challenge. If they want this to sell well and get some shelf space, getting this product online SOMEWHERE is essential.
