My god, what is there not to love… tons of caffeine, nutrition and energy in excess , great taste and good looks.If you have to get a big corporate drink found everywhere, drop that weenie blue monster and grab hold of this powerhouse of a drink. .This big blue sexy powerhouse has everything going for it.

While not revolutionary, Rockstar Lo-Carb does everything it should do very very well. The typefaces are all easy to recognize and the printing job is top quality. They double face the can (actually, they more like triple face it) so it is easier on the clerks and distributors to face on the shelving. It is easier on the consumer because they clearly label how much caffeine they are going to be dosing themselves with. My favorite part is that they remembered to position the lids of all their lo-carbs to the drink logo faces outwards away from the person drinking, so everyone can see what you are drinking wen you are drinking it. it is just those little attentions to detail that make me smile.

My only two small issues are the mixing of serif and sans-serif fonts (is there a reason that the directions for use has to be in a thick Times font?) and that with the listing of caffeine, I am not sure if the 240mg of caffeine is counting the Mate and Green tea,or is it caffeine + yerba mate + green tea, as the label suggests?

Both minor points for what is otherwise a great job both with the art and the function of package design.

sweet, natural and slightly sour – like a yummy chunk of berry tart. The berry is perfectly complimented by a strong green tea flavor – but does not taste chalky or bitter. Everything about this drink is delicious and flavorful. This actually seems much more like a juice than just artificially flavored, and you can barely taste the chemical sweetness used. This easy to drink formula is definitely one of the best out of the Rockstar line, and has me picking this up more than most other corporate energy drinks (no-fear, amp, monster, etc…)

OK. 240mg of caffeine in the 16 ounce variety. Plus Green Tea. PLUS yerba mate. So not only does this drink give a good boost, but keeps the boost going for well on 5 hours ( which is huge for me). It is not just caffeine packed either. Wile this is packed with preservatives and food dye, it still has zero carbs, no sugar and only 10 calories . They use Splenda to sweeten things up. They also use the standard B vitamin overdose, along with a big load of taurine and L-Carnatine.

In terms of buzz – watch out! This is some serious dosage, coming in at a good 240 mg of straight on caffeine. On top of that, there is an undisclosed amount of caffeine in the green tea extract and yerba mate – both of which gets processed in the body more slowly than the anhydrous caffeine, leaving you buzzed for longer. And it works – leaving you more alert and hyper for a good 5-6 hours before returning to normalcy. Not bad if you are partying like a Rockstar.
