Stoked Wind Chill energy

As I mentioned before, Stoked energy drink, made by leading Brands out of Canada, failed hard and ended up filling the shelves of the super-discount stores across the US. I am sure one of the reasons for failing so hard was this horrid little puke of a drink – misleading the drinker with awesome packaging that they are going to be drinking something which keeps it’s cool – like Slap Frost. Instead you are left having to force down this noxious stuff. Sure, someone might like it, but I know of people who eat tree sap too. Even for 60 cents, there is not enough buzz or cool in here to warrant slugging this down.

The thing is, this package is waaay cool! I love the Ice dragon theme, and the art on here is simply fantastic. The icy dragon and the icicles in the background certainly gets across what they are going for, and the old school font really helps sell the uniqueness of the brand. They do list the caffeine, but don’t bother positioning the lid to the can. If you did not ever have this or know of it, it would be very tempting to grab a can or two of this on the design alone.

Taste:2
The problem comes from trying to drink it. I think it was supposed to be citrus – mixed with a menthol drop. it is sour with no hope of getting better – and about as fresh as a molding lemon. The High energy Drink Blog thought this tasted like Tropicana Sparkling Orange Juice without the orange. They boast there is no high fructose corn syrup in this – but after finally managing to finish this can, maybe they should think of adding some.

This is about as standard as you could possibly get. There is about the same ingredients here as in all the major competitors, from the 160mg of caffeine, 2000mg of Taurine, Ginseng, inositol, Glucuronolactone, and the usual overdose of B vitamin complex. I probably would have gotten the standard buzz if I did not space this out over a couple hours. I just could not handle chugging it down. There was nothing of real notice in here, from strange and unusual ingredients or an extra boost in the caffeine department.
